FROM THE FOUNDER

Anna Claire Collier

I have spent a decade photographing families and another few years watching photographers try to do the same. Portrait photography used to be a career. A real small business, treated as one by the photographer and the client alike. I have spent the past several years clawing my way back to that model against popular opinion because I believe it is the right one. When someone is investing in a permanent piece of their family's history, they deserve to know exactly what they are getting, where it came from, and who stands behind it.I run this Born & Raised with intention, craft, and the understanding that some things are worth doing the old way. If this resonates with you, I would love to work together!

LET'S TALK

THE BORN & RAISED STANDARD

What makes it an heirloom.

Every portrait that leaves our studio meets the same standard, regardless of which photographer created it or where the sitting took place. This is not an accident. It is a decision we remake every time.

Centralized retouching

Every image is finished by our trained retouching team. Your third child's portrait will match the first, even if the sitting was five years apart.

In-house framing

Solid wood, hand-applied gilding, museum-grade materials. Built in Auburn, Alabama. If you want a matching frame in ten years, we will make you one.

A guided experience

From your first note to the artwork on your wall. You never make a decision alone. You never chase a reply. The loop always closes.

Artistry

Our work is a continuation of a craft that began in the 1830s. It is a skill that takes a time to learn, an eye for nuance, and a love of the work.
